Rockets fans cheer on team at Memorial Cup in Quebec
QUEBEC Reagan Krivsky is a true blue Kelowna Rockets fans ## ## . She has the travel log to prove it.
Krivsky was in Portland earlier this month when the Rockets were crowned champions of the Western Hockey League’s Western Conference with an 8 4 win over the Winterhawks in Game 6 for a 4 2 series victory. Now she’s in la belle province, decked out in Kelowna colours, rooting for the WHL champions in this year’s Memorial Cup.
“I’m hoping for some really good hockey,” Krivsky said prior to Friday’s tournament opening game between the Rockets and the Quebec Remparts. “The top four teams in Canada? Why not?
“Quebec has been known to do a really good job (of hosting the Memorial Cup),” she added. “In 2003, it was amazing, so let’s see what they can do better this time.”
Krivsky isn’t the only Rockets supporter here. She said there’s around 70 in total, ranging from parents and grandparents to plain ol’ fans. Among them are Anita and Allan Clausen, who also wore Rockets jerseys for Friday’s game.
“We’re staunch supporters of the Rockets and this will be our seventh Memorial Cup,” said Allan. “Even though the Rockets haven’t been in all of them, we went. We just love good hockey.”
